I've been debating this since I've turned 18, but I seriously want one.
Why not, right? Especially if it's small and in a very subtle place. I think it'll make me look more intense and mysterious... haha.
This website is my favorite:

Any suggestions? Comments? I'm thinking a small one on the inside bottom of my left foot... preferably a word.

life is beautiful
happy things
I had dinner tonight with my dad for father's day, and we were talking about the future and plans and what I want to do with my life.. always a scary talk, graduating next year is depressing and terrifying, but I cannot wait to see what life brings..
I still don't know what I want to do, but I do know that I want country cottages and skyscrapers, fresh fruit and wine, midnight dances and stolen kisses and starry nights and pencil skirts and skinny dipping and barefoot on the beach and picnics and swanky parties and conversations with 4 year olds and 80 year olds and sunflowers and rose gardens and heart shaped pancakes and road trips and songs played on an acoustic guitar.
And I still think anything and everything is possible. Summer 2011 is juuuuust starting, and it's already been an epic adventure:]
PS these pictures just make me happy:
shopping round 2 tomorrow with the BIFFFLLL, because we didn't buy enough today.. hehe... <3

If only Stanford could have gotten him as our grad speaker...
No offense to the president of Mexico, but this is amazing:

Tetrachromat
On my way home from work, I was listening to Incognito, a neuroscience book on tape (I know, I'm a huge nerd, whatevs). I knew 90% of the stuff on it just from taking 5 billion psych classes, but there was one new fun fact.. apparently, in the last few years, they've discovered that some women have a mutation which gives them four color-detecting cones in the retina, rather than the usual three. The results of this are huge; a normal person can see 1 million colors, but a tetrachromat would be able to see 100 million. SO MANY COLORS.
You can read more about it here: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06256/721190-114.stm
Anyway, it's genetically related to colorblindness, because boys who are color blind inherit either two red or two green cones from their moms (color receptor genes are on the X chromosome), so moms with colorblind sons have a greater chance of having this mutation with an extra color cone, which lies somewhere in the orange range. My brother is SUPER colorblind; he can't tell the difference between lime green and peach. It's SO bizarre to me, but you know, he doesn't know any better, and he gets along just fine. But now I have become thoroughly convinced that I can see way more colors than the average person. I can't recount how many times I've been irritated because two different shades of tan don't match, or two different shades of black, and someone responds "but they're both BLACK." And sunsets, don't even get me started. Every evening, I can't tear my eyes away from sunsets because they have SO MANY COLORS. Maybe this explains my love for rainbows. Maybe. And color in general.. because there are soooo many of them, periwinkle and mauve and macaroni and cheese and apparently, as many as 999,999,999,997 others.
p.s. I will marry the boy who gets me rainbow roses... random sidenote.

its SUMMER
this is just the ramblings of my overly exhausted brain; however, I'm going to attempt to blog all summer. about my sick job/new friends/LA adventures/every fabulous adventure and terrible mess I get myself into.
I love my job, and the two other interns. I shouldn't be this luck 2 summers in a row, but I am:)
They literally have built an Oz outside my office, it's like a real life fairy tale.. yellow brick road and all.
I'm way too tired to write too much, alarm is set for 6:11 AM... but in summary:
I love life and learning French and my Neuroscience book and the Physics book Nik gave me and flowers and ornaments in trees for no reason and iced lattes with honey and wearing heels all day without my feet hurting. I love good friends and text messages and singing really loudly in my truck and getting things accomplished and hugs and mochas and sour cream. I love phone calls with old friends and coconut tea and sunsets and palm trees and making friends with security guards and having good hair days. I love my new computer (thanks daddy:)) and yogurt with blueberries and making travel plans and making weekend plans.
This summer I will:
Learn a BIT of French.
Learn the basics of Physics.
Not fret about my future.
Not be so upset about my B+ in Personality Psych :(
Exercise at least 6 days a week.
Make new friends.
Not waste any of my 4 day weekends.
Try to blog often..
and trust that God knows what's best for me, because he seems to be doing a dang good job:)
I love life a bit too much; it's filled with so much magic and happy and twins and candy and perfect iced drinks and the sound of gravel under tires and crazy facts about electrons and retinas and neural plasticity and rainbows and perfect grassy lawns and stray kittens and guitar music and boys that are way too nice and girls who are always there and lovely, wonderful, magical things that I just can't get enough of.
And that's enough for tonight, am soooo looking forward to sleep...
